has anyone actually looked back at their time with avatar? for me, looking back, i remember how i first saw this show - just another crummy cartoon.but then as i got exposed to it more, i got hooked, until i was eagerly awaitng “the beach” and “the avatar and the firelord” which was almost a year ago. by this time i still havent watched them all but going back to watch episodes filled in my holes of the story, which was a big part in me liking avatar. i especially like “the firebending masters” because it reminds me of the sun, bbq and my pool because it came out in summer. oh how things have changed, in the show and in life.. how has your view of avatar and your life changed throughout the time of avatar?
-
on another note, i feel that interest of avatar is dying,at least in me: there continues to be discussion and evaluation of the last episodes, however it is becoming fainter as everyone knows that there will be no more new avatar stuff, leaving us to keep talking about the last episodes or to stop talking altogether..everyone will eventually lose interest of what was and will be one of the greatest shows. i laughed and cried in avatar, and have had mixed emotions in these forums and while waiting for the episodes..i grew as the characters grew, forming a bond with them through the series. The finale aroused great nostalgia for the show and the charcters,of which would last long but not forever. It was good while it lasted, and it was great talking to all you guys, but i think its time to move on- i mean, i definitely wont be hanging around here for the movie to come out for us to talk about. dont know about u guys, but ill be leaving this site and avatar indefinitely, (unless the nostalgia again kicks in somewhere down the track, but unlikely)so take care all, and nice talking to you guys, live life.

zuko_808- No, there isn’t anything that superpowers airbending or earthbending. For fire and water, they get celestial help, but no such thing would help an airbender or earthbender.
-
sokkaxsuki- Yupp, you’re absolutely right. Katara has progressed the most out of every other character in the series in such a short time, bending-wise. I’d say she was a prodigy like Azula, wouldnt you?
-
And… uhm… thanks for the smarty-pants comment?

In your opinion, what’s the best movie ever created?
Aug 6, 2008
Hey, everyone. Just had a thought… Well, yano how Azula, Zuko, Toph and Aang all trained since they were quite young? Katara only really started training when she left to go to the NP. And yet, she has held her own (and often defeated)against Zuko, Azula, Toph, and Aang. That proves that she has a lot of natural ability, so does that mean that she has the potential to be a way better bender than them (except Aang, of course)? Sorry, if this sounds like rambling–its just a thought.
-
zuko_8o8, I have absolutely no idea. Thats a really good question, though! Its especially difficult since it would have to be something that couldn’t be done by a bender, such as an earthquake or a cyclone, since they could have ultimate power on demand, so it would have to be a rare natural occurance. Matt, you’re the local smarty pants, what do you think?
-
That’s it for now…..

Doesn’t mean you’ve won

bulletbender- Don’t worry. Those are well-founded criticisms. Yes, the music and the cinematics was amazing and definitely my favorite part of the finale.
I wish they would’ve shown us how he broke out of prison.
-
Iroh and the other members of the White Lotus didn’t make a completely new gap in the same wall. Their camp was already within the Outer Walls - Iroh smashed through one of the Inner Walls. And I agree with you. Iroh does still look fat
-
Actually, I didn’t notice that. Piandao’s mouth moves, doesn’t it? o.O
-
Hey, I thought the lightning stuff was cool. Ozai did it in midair and Azula’s was all over the place and not as controlled. I would have liked to see more lightning, actually… and Zuko making some =P
-
Well, Katara had to take down Azula somehow… she didn’t have much water to work with, and I doubt that it’s possible to absorb enough water out of the air to make a tidal wave. Also, I think it was more likely for Azula to melt the ice than break the metal chains. Zuko’s broken out of ice before, multiple times in the Siege of the North, Part 1, very easily.
-
Yeah, Bumi didn’t do much cool earthbending… I would have liked to see more. But it WAS a firebending episode, and there aren’t nearly as many cool firebending moves outside of the finale.
-
I know almost nothing about the miniepisodes- just that they might not even exist, and if they do, they will air around 2009-2010.
-
I bet regular, human benders came before the Avatar. However, lion-turtles and energybenders might’ve been before the era of people.
-
Hope I cleared all that up for you.
-
Lee.- Oh, that’s right. I forgot. Thanks for that. Well, Aang and the Ocean Spirit together still killed the whole fleet of soldiers…

is there any natural phenomena that can make earthbenders and airbenders stronger, like firebenders are with comets and waterbenders are with full moons? im thinking huge scale landslides/cyclones, but seems far off
Aug 4, 2008
THE MUSIC OF THE FINALE was the best — the violin just wreaks of suspense.. and the best part was tophs iron man antics.. however im beginning to doubt she is blind lol.. especially what she says in ember island players(they could make a spoof about that, or all the zutarians who have nothing left to argue about can go and discover it:p)
-
if iroh wanted to save earth kingdom, they couldve went through the gap that was next to their camp instead of bringing another part of the wall down, plus i dont think the gap that the dai li made in ‘the awakening’ was that small to begin with.. and iroh still looks fat
-
has anyone noticed when bumi says”the white lotus is here”, someone says “here, to set you free” << it sounds like the swordsmans voice but pakku’s lips are moving
-
i know book 3 and the finale is focused on firebending, what with all the flying and walls of fire and generated fire balls, but dont u think that lightning was used too much that it made it look weak? it was ok when they did one bolt of lightning, 2 at max, but i didnt like they spraying of lightning that ozai did..
-
plus katara was pretty lame in her part of bringing down azula- she couldve used the other sources of water like throwing a tidal wave out of thin air or at least use the water in that pond or something like she did with creative flair in the north pole - i wouldve thought that chains would do nothing to azula (like when she broke out of toph’s rock hand cuffs in DOBS2),
-
i liked how they showed bumi, but they couldve made him summon huge earth hands from the ground or whirlpool the tanks instead of stack them up.. or at least do the stomping-the-ground-to-make-pillars-spike (like when he battled aang for the first time)
-
when the gang talked to bumi, i thought they were going to talk to pakku and let him tell his story showing a revamped south pole
-
and the minieps.. how ‘mini’ are we talking? they might as well make normal eps.. probably 20 of them.. and give it a title to group them all up too ;p
-
so there has been life before the era of the avatar.. where lion turtles energy-bended? was there people? how long ago does the avatar world reach? cause avatars have been going on for a pretty long time
-
im probably sounding too critical and your’e thinking i should just enjoy what the show gives and i should be grateful, but satisfaction is the death of desire…
