Watch Avatar Season 2 Episode 2: The Cave of Two Lovers (202)
While on the way to Omashu, Aang and the crew meet a group of traveling bards, who take them through a vast tunnel known as “The Cave of Two Lovers”. In the cave, Aang, Katara, and Appa become separated from Sokka and the bards. Elsewhere, Zuko and Iroh are sheltered by kind people after Iroh “accidentally” drinks the tea from a poisonous plant. Song, a young and compassionate healer, shows Zuko the effects of war from a normal citizen’s perspective.

thats not true! they did kiss, and when they got out and sokka asked how they got out, they say they did what the legend said, they used love… and also there are more definite reasons… I’ll tell u another reason (which there are alot of reasons) another 1 is when the lights lit up, katara said its just like the legend, the peope used love 2 find the way… and thats why the lights lit up a few seconds after the lights went out, they kissed! its so obious! and zutara fans its never gonna happen.. yes i have seen the episode 16 trailer where katara hugs zuko, but its prob just a tease! and how many times have u seen katara blush when aang and katara talk about love or something like that! and how many times did she blush about zuko? none!!

But love doesn’t equal kissing. Otherwise they could’ve just paired everyone up and get out that way. Sokka and that fat nomad could’ve kissed, and Appa and Momo could’ve kissed… Piece of cake.
Therefore, they might or might not have kissed. We may never know.

The first time Katara kissed Aang was the “Bato of the Watertribe” episode in Book 1! She kissed him on the cheek at the end of the episode! Zuko and Mai are perfect for each other. They’ll be the next rulers of the fire nation. That’s why it was important to have Mai turn good along with Zuko in the “Boling Rock pt 2″ episode. So that when the Avatar restores balance to the world, Zuko and Mai can lead the Fire nation on the straight and narrow! ZuMai 4ever!! All hail Fire lord Zuko!

yay Avatar - hmmm your reasons are pretty bland and boring. No body knows wether they kissed or not. im backing that they didnt, and not that its going to be hard, but ill rebut your reasons.
1. the crystals lit up a few seconds later? unless their kiss was super quick they didnt kiss. a few seconds is no where near long enough
2. The way they are standing afterwards suggest they didnt either. they are appart, not exactly standing together holding each other….. which is generally what happens after people kiss each other
3. yes when they got out of the cave they said they let lvoe guide the way. that means absolute crap towards them kissing or not. it can mean many things, not only does the line lead up to a joke amde by sokka, but i believe it means that they merely let their hearts lead the way, they trusted in each other to protect each other even in the dark (like friends do)
5. if they did kiss in the ep, which i will admit that there is a chance, albeit a small chance, why is there absolutely no mention of it in later eppisodes?
yes i too have seen the trailer, and the hug doesnt mean much either. sure its fun to speculate wether it was a “love hug” but it seems doubtful. personally i think its because they have just finished talking about their parents and they finally come to a mutal agreement, or common ground. Zuko does like her as well. in most eps when we see the two fighting their is a lot of chemistry, he recognises her as a powerful opponent and shows interest in her because of that. the zutara cave is a massive step forward for them, yes he betrayed her, but will a simple explanation all can be explained. All great romantic movies have 5 key elemets. 1. A love interest (duh) 2. URST (un resolved sexual tension) 3. Finally finding love 4. a twist/betrayal where it appears all love is lost 5. a reconcilation where they love each other and everyone lives happily every after. no im not saying zuatara is a certainty to happen, it it falls into these key elements easily. there are other smaller thing to watch out for as well. but as a kataang i dont expect you to have noticed. from now on please consider all possibilities before running your mouth
